My son has seen the advertisements for Qixels, and have been begging to see it under the Christmas tree! I love that it makes kids use their imagination, but it is still fun for them, and -key for my little guy- uses a gun! They can create monsters, warriors, ninjas, and more using their hands and not their tablets or other media devices! I love that Qixels appeals to those who like crafts, and those who usually do not like crafts. Qixels has named this toy as the “craftstruction” because you build AND craft something!
Qixels is appropriate for kids who are five or older, and you can find it online or at Target and Toys R Us. Prices start at just $9.99, so you can even use it as a stocker stuffer or birthday party. The most expensive one I’ve seen is only $19.99, which is amazing for so much fun!
You’ll need the Turbo Dryer along with your pack of Qixels. The Turbo Dryer fuses the designs together once you’ve got them set. This might be my little guy’s favorite part! You just lay the Qixels out on the Fuser station, spray it with water, and close the lid. That’s when the fun part starts. Have your little one press the plunger until the station starts spinning, and it will air dry the Qixels in no time!
Your design need to sit for about 20 to completely dry and fuses together, but they are so cute. We placed magnets on the back to use as gifts. We had so much fun using Qixels. We are going on day 3 of Qixeling (is that a words..lol) and he has made tons creative things. His favorite craft so fast has been the scoripin shown above. My favorite I made was a Santa hat that he hung on the tree.
I love unique gifts that get my little ones’ minds and imaginations going, and Qixels is definitely one of those toys!
