I’m not sure about you but I just love when I hear about big companies doing something to help out the community. U By Kotex has started the Power Of The Period, a first ever national period products drive and the second installment in their U By Kotex Period Projects. U by Kotex period projects is a groundbreaking series of projects, each inspired and led by women who share the brand’s passion for creating change.
Many don’t know that of the 3.5 million people who experience homelessness in the U.S., have limited access to and few places to turn for period products. As if homelessness is not bad enough, the thought of not being able to have access to proper hygiene products is mortifying. Inspired by a tweet from Holly Sanchez and executed in partnership with DoSomething.org, the U by Kotex Power of the Period drive encourages people to buy and donate an extra pack of period products to a homeless shelter.
Feminine Hygiene Products are often buy one get one free at stores. Buy one for yourself and donate the free pack to homeless women who don’t have access otherwise. Could you imagine not being able to use a pad or tampon because there were none available? It would be terrifying to me to say the least. Something so small as donating a box of tampons can mean so much and make a lasting impact.
