Good Morning from Andalsnes Norway!
Today we pulled into port in Andalsnes around 7am. I slept through it, I really have no idea when we arrived, but according to my itinerary it was 7am. I slept like a baby last night. I love all the fresh air in Norway and the long days. It is always sunlight in the summer in Norway. I have not seen dark yet and I have stayed up past night some night and woke up 4am some morning.
On the Europa 2 they have a few zodiac boats that we took out for a spin. It was super cool even with the overcast sky. We cruised through the fjord and pulled up to a waterfall. You know the adventurous girl in me had to get out of the zodiac boats with the guys and climb to the waterfall. It was a once in a lifetime chance and there way no way I was going to let pass it up.
Travel Tip: Pack an umbrella when traveling to Norway. Little rain shower pop up every so often. It may rain for 10 minutes or 2 hours.
Andalsnes is a small town characterized by tourism. The town is very cute and offers a wide array of hiking and climbing. It is also known as the home of the trolls which you can find the figurine everywhere. Actually trolls seem to be found everywhere in Norway.
We just spent 3 hours in Andalsnes before heading to its sister city Molde. Once we arrived in Molde and took a bus trip on the world`s best road trip, the Atlantic Road. The road zigzags across bridges and small islands and is a truly unique experience. Then we arrived at the Bergtatt Marble Caves, which are old lime and marble mines. This is a unique experience inside the mountain and we tasted crystal clear water.
After the cave back to the Europa 2 we went and had dinner at Elements the asian restaurant. It was caviar night in the ship so we started with that. Dinner ended with gelato. Europa 2 has some of the best gelato ever! I may or may not of had a cone everyday.
I am so sad tonight as I know tomorrow is the last day of the cruise. I spent a long time sitting on my balcony taking in the views before heading to bed.
A Special thanks to Hapag-Lloyd Cruises for the unforgettable week on the Europa 2. While they are funding all air, hotels and meals, this in no way shapes my opinion of my journey through Norway.
